Griffith and Associates, Ltd. <br /> <br />GENERAL FUND <br /> <br />DECREASE EXPENDITURES: <br /> <br />ACCOUNT NAME CURRENT TRANSFER AMENDED <br /> BUDGET AMOUNT BUDGET <br /> <br />Commissioners' 12,345.00 12,000.00 345.00 <br /> Contingency <br /> <br />INCREASE EXPENDITURES: <br /> <br />Consultant-David M. <br /> Griffith and <br /> Associates, Ltd. <br /> <br />2,000.00 12,000.00 14,000.00 <br /> <br /> Mr. Gardner Gidley of Gardner Gidley and Associates reviewed the completed <br />Parks and Recreation Master Plan for Cabarrus County with the Board. The <br />Board deferred action on the acceptance of this plan as the County's recreation <br />plan until the next regular meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Allen and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the submission of a $5,000 Challenge <br />Grant Application by the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department to <br />the North Carolina Arts Council to set up an arts program in the county. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, reported on the bids which were <br />received for the Mobile Crime Scene Search Unit as follows: <br /> <br />BID TABULATION <br /> <br />LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT DATE: <br />February 25, 1980 <br /> <br /> VENDOR <br /> <br />Gall's Inc. <br />230 West Main Street <br />Lexington, Kentucky 40507 <br /> <br />BID BOND TOTAL BID <br /> <br />$25,990.00 <br /> <br />W. Born & Associates <br />5194 First Street, N.E. <br />Rt. #3 <br />Thornville, Ohio 43076 <br /> <br />$26,345.00 <br /> <br />Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories <br />Post Office Box 30576 <br />Raleigh, North Carolina 27612 <br /> <br />X $24,900.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Allen and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the contract for the Mobile Crime <br />Scene Search Unit to the low bidder, Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories, Inc., <br />in the amount of $24,900.00. Funds for this unit are provided by a LEAA <br />Grant of $23,986.00 and $914.00 in County funds from the Sheriff's Department <br />budget. <br /> The Board discussed the appointment of eighteen (18) persons to represent <br />Cabarrus County on the Board of Electors of the Southern Piedmont Health <br />Systems Agency, Inc., and the nomination of individuals to be voted on for <br />seven (7) consumer positions and four (4) provider positions with the Agency. <br />Members of the Board are to notify the County Manager of the names of these <br />nominees to be submitted to the Agency. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Bonds <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Memorandum of <br />Understanding. <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> between <br /> The N. C. Agricultural Extension Service <br /> N. C. State and A & T State Universities <br /> and <br /> The Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br /> The North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service was established as a part of <br /> the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences of North Carolina State University <br /> <br /> <br />
