UPON MOTION .of Commi.ssioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and unanimously carried, the Board moved to adjourn until 1:00 P.M. The Board reconvened in regular session at 1:00 P.M. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Ambulance Service EMT-IV Training and Certification Program for Cabarrus County and authorized the following statement to the North Carolina Office of Emergency Services. The Board of Cabarrus County Commissioners endorses the concepts and intent of the EMT-IV, supports the goals of the program, will ensure that Cabarrus County Ambulance Service will comply with the rules and regulations as stated in North Carolina General Statute 143-514, and commits its resources of Cabarrus County to the success of this program. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board nominated Sheriff J. B. Roberts for reappoint- ment by the Chairman of the Centralina Council of~ Governments for a three- year term on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Allen and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution. We the Cabarrus County Commissioners in cooperation with the Cabarrus County~Association for Retarded Citizens, proclaim the week of May 4 through 10, 1980, as county wide MENTAL RETARDATION WEEK to increase the awareness of the needs and potentials of mentally handicapped individuals; and to recognize the many hours of unselfish service that parents, educators, professionals and other volunteers devote to improving the welfare of mentally handicapped persons.
