The Board reconvened in regular session at 1:00 P.M. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Ambulance Service EMT-IV Training <br />and Certification Program for Cabarrus County and authorized the following <br />statement to the North Carolina Office of Emergency Services. <br /> <br />The Board of Cabarrus County Commissioners endorses the concepts and <br />intent of the EMT-IV, supports the goals of the program, will ensure <br />that Cabarrus County Ambulance Service will comply with the rules and <br />regulations as stated in North Carolina General Statute 143-514, and <br />commits its resources of Cabarrus County to the success of this <br /> <br />program. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board nominated Sheriff J. B. Roberts for reappoint- <br />ment by the Chairman of the Centralina Council of~ Governments for a three- <br />year term on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Allen and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br /> We the Cabarrus County Commissioners in cooperation with the Cabarrus <br /> County~Association for Retarded Citizens, proclaim the week of May 4 <br /> through 10, 1980, as county wide <br /> <br /> MENTAL RETARDATION WEEK <br /> <br /> to increase the awareness of the needs and potentials of mentally <br /> handicapped individuals; <br /> and to recognize the many hours of unselfish service that parents, <br /> educators, professionals and other volunteers devote to improving <br /> the welfare of mentally handicapped persons. <br /> <br /> <br />
