Edmisten <br />Attorney General <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br />North Carolina Department <br /> of Justice <br />Post Office Box 629 <br />Raleigh, North Carolina 27602 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to meet <br />as the Cabarrus County Personnel Grievance Board to hear an appeal from <br />Mr. Jack Alston, County Planner, regarding his termination of employment <br />and to discuss personnel matters. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to terminate the Executive Session. <br /> Chairman Cook stated the Board had met with Mr. Jack Alston regarding <br />his termination as County Planner and had denied his request for reinstate- <br />ment. <br /> Chairman Cook stated the jail matrons will be paid as deputies. He <br />also stated the four ladies who work in the offices of the Cabarrus County <br />Sheriff's Department and the Kannapolis Police Department and do deputy <br />work will be paid the same salary as deputies. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, stated that he had reported to <br />the Board that Mr. W. O. Richards, Director of Emergency Services, had <br />submitted his resignation to the County on that date, July 14, 1980, to <br />be effective immediately. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed by resolution to pay Mr. Jack Alston <br />thirty (30) days severance pay from the date he was dismissed. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Bonds <br /> and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
