C. 28025 <br /> <br />X $9,766.07 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconder by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid for recreation equipment to <br />the low bidder, Oxford Sporting Goods, in the amount of $9,479.02. <br /> Ms. Sara Barrett, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Project <br />Coordinator for the Centralina Council of Governments, was present to request <br />the Board's endorsement of a CPR Project funded by an Office of Emergency <br />Medical Services State Grant to promote the training of the public in <br />Basic CPR and airway obstruction through expanded educational programs of <br />the American Red Cross and American Heart Association. The goal for <br />training persons in CPR in Cabarrus County during 1980-81 is ~600 people. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board unanimously endorsed the Cardio-Pulmonary <br />Resuscitation (CPR) Project to promote CPR training in Cabarrus County. <br /> UPON MOTION of commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Allen <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Donald Foster to the <br />Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board to fill the unexpired term of Mr. James <br />Brandon. This term will expire on July 1, 1981. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following additions to the <br />state road system. <br /> <br />Marlboro Drive and Shadowcrest Drive <br /> Mistywood Lane <br /> Brackenberry Circle <br /> Quail Drive <br /> Deerwood Drive <br /> Cumberland Court <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed for Cabarrus County to be included <br />with the Salisbury-Rowan County area in the designation of a Standard <br />Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA) by the United States Department of <br />Commerce. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the acceptance of a grant award <br />from the North Carolina Department of Transportation in the amount of <br />$21,105.00 for a joint Rowan-Cabarrus transit feasibility study and amended <br />the Planning Department budget in the amount of $21,105.00 to accept <br />$18,994.50 in State revenue and $2,110.50 in local matching funds provided <br />by Rowan County and Cabarrus County. Cabarrus County's share of the local <br />match will be provided by in-kind services. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the transfer of $500.00 from the <br />Commissioners' Contingency Fund to Ambulance Building-Capital Outlay for <br />payment of costs for a fence erected at the Cabarrus County Ambulance Service <br />Building. <br /> <br /> <br />
