462 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, December 1, <br />1980, at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Troy R. Cook <br /> Commissioners: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> J. Ray Allen <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend W. T. Medlin, Jr., of Trinity <br />United Methodist Church. <br /> There being no additions or corrections to the minutes of November 10, <br />1980, they were approved as written. <br /> Commissioner Lentz reported that no agreement regarding the Stonewall <br />Jackson Park property had been finalized with Mr. Robin Hayes. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, reviewed the following accomplish- <br />ments of the retiring Commissioners. <br /> <br /> MARCELLE MILLOWAY <br />Years Served as County Commissioner: 6 Years <br />Special Positions Held Representing the County: <br /> National: National Association of County Officials Delegate <br /> State: Education LegiSlation Committee <br /> Board of Directors of North Carolina Association of <br /> County Commissioners <br /> Local: Social Services Board <br /> Barber-Scotia Liaison <br /> School Systems Liaison <br />Noteworthy Accomplishments: <br /> 1 Seven New Buildings <br /> 2 Sewer and Water and School Bonds <br /> 3 New Courthouse Building <br /> 4 Data Processing <br /> 5 Renovated Social Services Building <br /> 6 New Mental Health Building <br /> 7 Computerized Voting <br /> 8. Joint Mass Transit (Cabarrus-Rowan) Study <br /> Special Interests: <br /> Farming <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis presented Commissioner Milloway and Commissioner Allen <br />with individual plaques of appreciation for contributions made by them in service <br />to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
