.513 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the duty and responsibility of every citizen to obey the law <br />and to honor our law enforcement officers; and it is a stated purpose of <br />The American Legion in its preamble to support law enforcement and inculcate <br />a sense of security through this support and fostering of community and <br />individual respect for the untiring efforts of the local police, sheriff's <br />deputies, auxiliary officers and state highway patrolmen; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all Concord and Cabarrus County residents ought to honor those law <br />enforcement officers who have the responsibility of keeping our streets and <br />homes safe every day; <br /> <br />I THEREFORE DO PROCLAIM that April 17, 1981 be hereby designated American <br />Legion Law Enforcement Day in Concord and Cab~rrus County, and call on all <br />citizens to participate in honoring all law enforcement officers. <br /> <br />Signed this 3rd day of April, in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-one, <br />A.D. <br /> <br /> Ralph C. Bonds <br />Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Chairman Bonds with <br />Chairman Bonds and Commissioners Payne, Cook, and Nash voting for and <br />Commissioner Lentz voting against, the Board approved the installation <br />of the telephone in the Veterans Service Office which had been removed as <br />a result of the survey conducted by the Concord Telephone Company. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the request by Brookwood Studios <br />to have live musical entertainment at the Grand Opening Saturday, May 16, <br />1981, at its location on Highway 49 and 601 behind Troutman's Bar-B-Q with <br />the restriction that this music not extend beyond 11:00 P.M. on that date. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
