Larry Best and Brad Davis of Land Design presented the <br />Revised Master Site Plan for Stonewall Jackson Park and reviewed the <br />preliminary cost estimates for Phase I construction of the park based on <br />the Revised Master Site Plan. <br /> Mr. Jim Herman, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Commission, presented the items proposed for construction during <br />Phase I-Stage I construction of Stonewall Jackson Park and reauested <br />authorization to advertise for bids for the construction of these facilities. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Cook and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board accepted the Revised Master Site Plan for <br /> Stonewall Jackson Park as presented by Messrs. Larry Best and Brad Davis of <br /> Land Design. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the deletion of Option II, the <br /> Swimming Pool Complex, in the amount of $285,100.00 from the Land and Water <br /> Conservation Fund Grant Reimbursement Program as recommended by the Executive <br /> Committee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Cabarrus County Parks and <br /> Recreation Advisory Commission to advertise for bids for Phase I-Stage I <br /> construction of Stonewall JacksonPark. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the submission of the $5,000 <br /> Challenge Grant Application by the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation <br /> Department to the North Carolina Arts Council. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board agreed to change the date of the next regular <br /> ~Board meeting from Monday, April 20, 1981, at 7;00 P.M. to Tuesday, April 21, <br /> 1981, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> uPoN MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 7:30 P.M. on <br /> Tuesday, April 21, for the naming of an unnamed road off Flowes Store Road <br /> East to Bondale Drive. <br /> Mr. ~. S. Chandler, Jr., of the Cabarrus CoUnty Planning Department, <br /> Mr. David Hawkins of the Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Danny Johnson <br /> of the Rowan County Planning Department, and Mr. June Flowers from the Town <br /> of Landis met with the Board to assess the highway improvement projects set <br /> <br /> <br />
