<br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular
<br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Tuesday,
<br />July 7, 1981, at 9:30 A.M.
<br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds
<br /> Commissioners: J. Harold Nash
<br /> Troy R. Cook
<br /> James W. Lentz
<br /> Kenneth F. Payne
<br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Farrell Shimpock of the Oak
<br />Ridge Baptist Church.
<br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager~ informed the Board that
<br />the following changes were made to the 1981-82 Budget Ordinance asa
<br />result of the meeting on June 22, 1981: (1) Civil Preparedness budget
<br />was increased to show additional appropriation made by the Board to the
<br />rescue squads in the County. (2) Salary amount in the Planning Department
<br />budget was increased to reflect the adjustment in salary made by the Board
<br />in December, '1980. (3) Budget of the Engineering Section of the Planning
<br />Department was amended as approved by the Board. (4) Veteran's Service
<br />budget was amended to include salary for the employee for the Veteran's
<br />Service Office and the Ambulance Service Office. Mr. McGinnis reported
<br />that these adjustments were reflected in the Budget Ordinance included in
<br />the minutes of June 22, 1981.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and
<br />unanimously carried, the minutes of June 8, June 9, June 15, and June 22,
<br />1981, were. approved as written.
<br />Mr. W. K. Cowan, Recreation Director, reported that bids received on
<br />July 3, 1981 for the Plumbing Contract for the Phase I, Stage l~construction
<br />
<br />of Frank Liske Park were as follows.
