562 <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles Smith of Harrisburg objected to the proposed ordinance and <br />to the cost of enforcing zoning in the County. He urged the Board to give <br />the taxpayers of the County the right to vote on the issue. <br /> Mr. Jack Ruckart of Route 4, Concord, opposed the concept of zoning and <br />called for a vote of the audience regarding the zoning issue. Two persons <br />voted in favor of zoning. <br /> Mr. Milton Greene disapproved of the restrictions on the number and type <br />of vehicles which may be parked at an individual's home. <br /> Mr. Wayne Shue objected to the proposed ordinance and asked that citizens <br />be allowed to vote to decide the issue. <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kiser of Rocky River Road opposed the concept of <br />zoning, stating that no one should be able to regulate the use of an individual's <br />property. <br /> Mr. David Fudge of Highway 73 West objected to any consideration of <br />zoning for the County for the next ten years. <br /> Mr. Henry Furr opposed zoning for Cabarrus County. <br /> Mr. John Smith of Harrisburg objected to the Zoning Ordinance in its present <br />form and called for a revision of the ordinance to be voted on by the citizens <br />of the County. <br /> Ms. Faith Smith of.Concord stated opposition to the concept of zoning <br />with specific objections to restrictions on the use of land in the Agricultural <br />Industrial District and Agricultural/Rural Residential District. Mrs. H. B. Robertson supported the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Mrs. Carlene Barnhardt of Concord protested against any type of restrictions <br />by the government on the use of an individual's land. <br /> Mr. Frank Gray disapproved of restrictions on the parking of trucks and <br />equipment at an individual's home. <br /> Mr. Steven Hudspeth opposed zoning and any additional cost to the taxpayers <br />of the CoUnty. <br /> Mr. Paul Moose of Fleetwood Drive in Concord objected to any restrictions <br /> placed on an individual's property by zoning regulations. <br /> Mr. Ned Miller of the Mt. Pleasant Highway disfavored the principle of <br /> zoning and asked for the opportunity to vote on the matter. <br /> Mr. Bill Bonny opposed ~the present Zoning Ordinance with the exception of <br /> the Flood Plain zoning regulations. He recommended that a committee be formed <br /> to plan the location of future water and sewer facilities throughout the <br /> County that would allow the land to be developed in an orderly fashion and <br /> would create voluntary land use zoning. <br /> Mr. Archie Barnhardt objected to restrictions on trailers and junkyards <br /> in the proposed ordinance. <br /> Mr. R. W. Furr, owner of a salvage yard, objected to the principle of <br /> zoning and asked the Board to allow the public to vote on the issue. <br /> Mr. Don Efird of Kannapolis objected to the building height regulations and <br /> minimum lot size restrictions. He also asked that persons in the County be <br /> allowed to decide the issue by voting on zoning. <br /> Mr. Manuel Kiser, salvage dealer and junkyard operator, denounced the <br /> proposed Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Mr. J. Hugh Jones opposed restrictions on a business operated from a <br /> person's home. <br /> Mr. Gary Rollins objected to mobile home restrictions. <br /> Mr. Robert Herndon, moderator, asked if anyone else in the audience wished <br /> to speak regarding the proposed ordinance.
