582 <br /> <br />County, to work out an agreement for possible universal water rates for <br />all customers, and to formulate plans for the future installation and <br />maintenance of' water lines in the CQunty. -The Board will make a.decision <br />regarding a water and sewer bond election after all available information <br />has been obtained. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimouslycarried, the Board adopted a resolution of intent stating that <br />Cabarrus County'is interested in participating in providing additional local <br />funding to complete construction of the interceptor sewer lines in the <br />County and that the County Manager, Commissioner Cook, and others involved <br />in negotiations with the City of Concord regarding this funding be <br />allowed to continue these negotiations and bring recommendations back to <br />the Board for consideration. <br /> The following motion made by Commissioner Nash and seconded by <br />Commissioner Cook was withdrawn after discussion by the Board: To <br />appropriate $6,000.00.from the Commissioners' Contingency Fund as a <br />contribution to Historic Cabarrus, Inc., for repairs to the Old Courthouse, <br />to take over the maintenance of the Old Courthouse lawn, to purchase flags <br />for the Old Courthouse and provide County personnel to raise and lower the <br />flags each day, and to work with the architect employed by:Historic Cabarrus <br />to coordinate the front yard design of the new Courthouse, into the overall <br />comprehensive plan for the Old Courthouse area. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded_by Commissioner Cook and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed for County personnel to take over <br />the maintenance of the Old Courthouse lawn, for the County to purchase flags <br />for the Old Courthouse and provide County personnel to raise and lower.the <br />flags each day, and for the County to work with the architect employed by <br />Historic Cabarrus to coordinate the front yard design of the new Courthouse <br />into the overall comprehensive plan for the Old Courthouse area. <br /> The Board instructed the County Manager to discuss the Board's action <br />with representatives of Historic Cabarrus, Inc., to obtain permission for the <br />County to provide these services which were not authorized in the lease <br />agreement between the County and Historic Cabarrus, Inc. <br /> Commissioner Nash requested that a representative of W. P. Ferriss, Inc., <br /> the firm curre~ty conducting the revaluation of property in the County, <br /> present a status report to the Board at its next regular meeting on <br /> August 17, 1981. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br /> unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
