613 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />November 2, 1981, at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph Co Bonds <br /> Commissioners: J. Harold Nash <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Charles H. Woody, Sr., of the New <br />Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz with <br />Commissioners Cook, Lentz, and Payne and Chairman Bonds voting for, the <br />minutes of October 20, 1981, were approved as written. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of ~Suther Road and <br />Dairy Farm Road to the state road system. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Chairman Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, .the Board approved the addition of the following .roads <br />with corrected lengths to the state road system. <br /> <br />Primrose Lane - 2,006 linear feet <br />Fieldcrest Circle - 1,600 linear feet <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 10:00 A.M. on <br />December 7, 1981, for the naming of an unnamed road to Boone's Farm Road. <br /> The Board reviewed the request from the Soil Conservation Service for <br />the approval of an amendment to the cooperative agreement between the County <br />and the Soil Conservation Service to reimburse Cabarrus County, not to exceed <br />$8,000~ for the digitizing of the soil survey maps by the County. The <br />cooperative agreement will be signed and funds obligated as soon as the <br />U. S. Department of Agriculture authorizes the Soil Conservation Service <br />to proceed with the procurement of ADP services of this type. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following amendment to the <br />cooperative agreement between Cabarrus County and the Soil Conservation <br />Service. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT #1 TO CONTRACT NO. AG37scs00117 <br /> <br />Add: <br /> <br />1.d. (The Cooperator Agrees) <br />To digitize the soil map into the computer system being utilized <br />to automate the county records and provide computer tapes of <br />the date to the Service for use in publishing the soil survey of <br />the county~ A second set of the tapes would be provided the <br />Land Resource Information Service, DNRCD for use in the LRIS <br />program. <br /> <br />Add: <br /> <br />2.f. (The Service Agrees) <br />To reimburse the Cooperator not to exceed $8,000 for the work <br />sited in paragraph 1.d. upon receipt of a detailed invoice. <br />Invoices are to be submitted on a quarterly basis and are to <br />cover only work completed during that quarter. <br /> <br />CONCURRED: <br /> <br />Chairman, Cabarrus County Board <br /> of Commissioners <br /> <br />APPROVED FOR FUNDING: <br /> <br />State Conservationist <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br /> Mr. John J. Garrett, Vice President of Historic Cabarrus, Inc. and <br />Chairman of the Architectural Committee for the restoration of the Old <br />Courthouse, reported that a survey of the Old Courthouse site was required <br />for architectural work to be conducted. Survey information required included <br />the location of property boundaries, existing buildings, utility lines and <br /> <br /> <br />
