No charge for final plat approval <br /> <br />NOTE: As errors in the text and mapping are inherent in any newly adopted <br />or amended zoning effort, the planning staff will request amendments to be <br />submitted to the Planning Board and ultimately to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. These cases brought forth by staff, as contrasted with <br />those initiated by an individual seeking an amendment, and will require the <br />same procedure as any other amendment. No fee will be required for any <br />proposed correction initiated and presented by staff. <br /> Mr. Bill Clayton, resident of Lane Street in Kannapolis, presented a <br /> letter to the Board from residents of that street requesting the Board's <br /> endorsement and support of a petition to be sent to the North Carolina <br /> Department of Transportation requesting that the speed limit on Lane Street <br /> be reduced from 45 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour. He asked that a <br /> copy of the petition be forwarded to Department of Transportation Secretary <br /> William Roberson,~ Senator James Garrison, and Mr. John Q. Burnette. <br /> The Board accepted the letter and petition from the residents of <br /> Lane Street as information only and instructed the County Manager to forward <br /> the petition to the appropriate officials at the North Carolina Department <br /> of Transportation. <br /> Mr. Erwin Spainhour, attorney representing residents objecting to the <br /> construction of a race track by Mr. Henry Furr in the area of Joyner Road <br /> and Highway 601, addressed the Board regarding the revocation of the <br /> building permit issued on December 10, 1981 for construction of a facility <br /> at the site of the race track. He presented a "statement of understanding" <br /> signed by the property owner at the time of the issuance of the permit <br /> acknowledging that the proposed structure and/or use was not in conformance <br /> with the proposed ordinance unless a conditional use permit was granted and <br /> <br /> <br />
