86 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />April 19, 1982, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Commissioners: J. Harold Nash <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Gregory C. Slater of the Associate <br />Reformed Presbyterian Church. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Cook, Payne, and Lentz and Chairman Bonds voting for, the <br />minutes of March 15, 1982 were corrected to read as follows. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, reported that he had <br /> checked with other local government units regarding the audit firms <br /> which had presented a proposal for the 1981-82 audit for Cabarrus <br /> County and had determined that all the firms were rated very <br /> favorably by people who had used them. He recommended that the <br /> Board award the annual audit contract for 1981-82 to Arthur Young <br /> & Company which had submitted the lowest proposal. Proposals received <br /> <br />were as follows. <br /> <br />Arthur Young & Company - $10,800 <br />Cherry, Bekaert & Holland - $14,600 <br />A. M. Pullen & Company - $16,000 <br />Sherrill & Smith - $16,000 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br /> of the County Manager and awarded the Cabarrus County audit contract <br /> for the fiscal year 1981-82 to Arthur Young & Company in the amount <br /> of $10,800. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Cook with <br />Commissioners Payne, Cook, and Lentz and Chairman Bonds voting for, the <br />minutes of April 5, 1982, were approved as written. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Cook, Payne, and Lentz, and Chairman Bonds voting for, the <br />Board approved the addition of the following roads to the state road system. <br /> <br />Sunset Drive <br />Trotters Ridge <br />Hackney Court <br />Danlow Drive <br /> <br /> Bids received for the demolition of the County building at 63 Church <br />Street, S.E., in Concord were as follows. <br /> <br />LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT DATE: <br />March 19, 1982 <br /> <br /> COMPANY <br />Parker's Crane Service <br />Carolina Grading & Engineering <br />D.
