104 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met at 7:00 P.M. <br />on Thursday, May 6, 1982, at the County Courthouse in Concord, North <br />carolina, for a public hearing on proposed Zoning Atlas and Text amendments. <br /> Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds <br /> Commissioners: J. Harold Nash <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> James W. Lentz <br /> Absent - Commissioner: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> In the absence of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, the minutes <br /> were recorded by Ms. Cathie K. Isenhour. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board agreed to discuss the request for digging <br /> another trench at the County Landfill. that the <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, presented a proposal <br /> Board authorize the extension of the present contract with Culp Brothers <br /> to allow the company to dig an additional trench at the Landfill. He <br /> reported that the cost of this excavation work would be approximately <br /> $18,400.00. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Chairman Bonds and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to spend up <br /> to $18,400.00 to cut another site to bury garbage at the County Landfill. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appropriated $16,000.00 from the Commissioners' <br /> Contingency Fund to the Landfill budget to dig an additional trench at the <br /> Landfilll. The remainder of the cost for the excavation of the trench <br /> will be funded from the present Landfill budget. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to sell the <br /> hardwood trees presently located on the site of the proposed trench to <br /> commercial buyers. <br /> Mr. Raiford Troutman, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Planning Board, <br /> stated that the Planning Board had met on March 24, 1982, to discuss <br /> proposed Zoning Atlas and text changes and at this time were recommending <br /> six changes to the Atlas and six amendments to the Zoning text. He <br /> recognized Mr. W. S. Chandler, Jr., Planning Director, who presented each <br /> of the recommended Zoning Atlas and text amendments for consideration by <br /> the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br /> ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> (1) Maps/Parcel Identification Number 4598-57-6180, 4598-56-3997, <br /> 4598-47-5494, 4598-57-5927. E.V. Little, Heirs. <br /> 4598-57-6180 proposed zone change from C-3 to RMF-7 <br /> 4598-56-3997 proposed zone change request portion from C-3 to RMF-7 <br /> 4598-47-5494 proposed zone change request portion from RMF-7 to C-3 <br /> 4598-57-5927 proposed zone change request portion from RMF-7 to C-4 <br /> in Cabarrus County, Township 2. <br /> <br /> Mr. Clarence Little spoke in favor of the proposed zoning change. <br /> No one was present to speak against this amendment. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz, and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the adoption of the changes as <br /> stated. <br /> <br /> (2) Map/Parcel Identification Number 4690-33-6070. Ralph C. Bonds. <br /> A proposed zone change request portion of (100' x 500' adjacent to <br /> C-3) from A-I to C-3 in Cabarrus County, Township 2. <br /> <br /> Chairman Bonds turned the meeting over to Vice-Chairman Nash for <br /> action on this proposed amendment. No one spoke either for or against the <br /> amendment. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board granted the zoning change as presented. <br /> <br /> (3) Map/Parcel Identification Numbers 4690-47-8502, 4690-38-8510, <br /> 4690-59-0724, 4690-69-0117, 4690-69-7154, all propose zone change <br /> from C-3 to ARR. All property located North of 1-85 to South of <br /> Goodman Road in Cabarrus County, Township 2. <br /> <br /> <br />
