104 The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 6, 1982, at the County Courthouse in Concord, North carolina, for a public hearing on proposed Zoning Atlas and Text amendments. Present - Chairman: Ralph C. Bonds Commissioners: J. Harold Nash Troy R. Cook James W. Lentz Absent - Commissioner: Kenneth F. Payne In the absence of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, the minutes were recorded by Ms. Cathie K. Isenhour. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Nash and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to discuss the request for digging another trench at the County Landfill. that the Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, presented a proposal Board authorize the extension of the present contract with Culp Brothers to allow the company to dig an additional trench at the Landfill. He reported that the cost of this excavation work would be approximately $18,400.00. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Chairman Bonds and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to spend up to $18,400.00 to cut another site to bury garbage at the County Landfill. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Nash and unanimously carried, the Board appropriated $16,000.00 from the Commissioners' Contingency Fund to the Landfill budget to dig an additional trench at the Landfilll. The remainder of the cost for the excavation of the trench will be funded from the present Landfill budget. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to sell the hardwood trees presently located on the site of the proposed trench to commercial buyers. Mr. Raiford Troutman, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Planning Board, stated that the Planning Board had met on March 24, 1982, to discuss proposed Zoning Atlas and text changes and at this time were recommending six changes to the Atlas and six amendments to the Zoning text. He recognized Mr. W. S. Chandler, Jr., Planning Director, who presented each of the recommended Zoning Atlas and text amendments for consideration by the Board of Commissioners. ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENTS (1) Maps/Parcel Identification Number 4598-57-6180, 4598-56-3997, 4598-47-5494, 4598-57-5927. E.V. Little, Heirs. 4598-57-6180 proposed zone change from C-3 to RMF-7 4598-56-3997 proposed zone change request portion from C-3 to RMF-7 4598-47-5494 proposed zone change request portion from RMF-7 to C-3 4598-57-5927 proposed zone change request portion from RMF-7 to C-4 in Cabarrus County, Township 2. Mr. Clarence Little spoke in favor of the proposed zoning change. No one was present to speak against this amendment. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the adoption of the changes as stated. (2) Map/Parcel Identification Number 4690-33-6070. Ralph C. Bonds. A proposed zone change request portion of (100' x 500' adjacent to C-3) from A-I to C-3 in Cabarrus County, Township 2. Chairman Bonds turned the meeting over to Vice-Chairman Nash for action on this proposed amendment. No one spoke either for or against the amendment. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and unanimously carried, the Board granted the zoning change as presented. (3) Map/Parcel Identification Numbers 4690-47-8502, 4690-38-8510, 4690-59-0724, 4690-69-0117, 4690-69-7154, all propose zone change from C-3 to ARR. All property located North of 1-85 to South of Goodman Road in Cabarrus County, Township 2.
