195 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed by resolution that Cabarrus County <br />would pay the insurance premium for one month for those employees age 65 and <br />under who are retiring. The Board will consider the matter of insurance <br />benefits for retired employees at its January meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, <br />and the County Service Garage to service the law enforcement vehicles owned <br />by the Town of Mt. Pleasant if and when that work does not interfere with <br />the normal maintenance of Cabarrus County vehicles. The Town of Mt. Pleasant <br />will reimburse the County the cost of parts and labor for any work per- <br />formed on these cars. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Harry Lassiter as the extra- <br />territorial jurisdictional member to the Mt. Pleasant Planning and Zoning <br />Board to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Lewis Williams. This term of <br />office will expire on June 30, 1984. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following amendment to the <br />Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance as presented by Mr. John R. Boger, Jr., <br />County Attorney. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that Section 5 of Part VII of the Cabarrus <br />County Personnel Ordinance be amended by adding the following: <br /> <br /> "Provided that persons may be employed on a part-time basis <br />after they reach the age of seventy upon the approval of the <br />department head and the County Manager. For the purposes of <br />this Section, part-time employees shall be those employees who <br />work not more than one-half of the total number of employee <br />hours in any calendar quarter." <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimpusly carried, the Board agreed to pay Mr. Jack Rankin, Planning <br />Board Chairman, for an official meeting when he comes to the meetings of <br />the Board of Commissioners to present proposed zoning changes. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set the fee of $1.50 each for copies of <br />the proposed Mobile Home Ordinance for the public. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
