Mazo <br />Vice President <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Messrs. Philip H. Smith, Sr., <br />L. D. Coltrane, III, and Walter M. Safrit, II to the Centralina Development <br />Corporation for a one year term. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Nash, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Ben Mabrey, Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Services Director, to the Region F Emergency Medical Services <br />Advisory Council for a term of two years ending June 30, 1985. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board extended the term of appointment for Mr. Bill <br />Covington on the Region F Aging.Advisory Committee, reappointed Mrs. Ruby <br />Lentz to the Advisory Committee, and appointed Mr. Grady S. Carpenter <br />to the position held by Mr. Irvin Christenbury on the Advisory Committee. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried the Board established the following expiration dates <br />for members of the Region F Aging Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Covington - June 30, 1984 <br /> Mrs. Ruby Lentz - June 30, 1985 <br /> Mr. Grady S. Carpenter - June 30, 1985 <br /> <br /> Chairman Nash stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for <br />a public hearing for the road name change of Northwest Cabarrus High School <br />Drive to Northwest Cabarrus Drive and asked if anyone were present to <br />speak for or against the road name change. The Board reviewed the letters <br />from Mr. Bernie A. Edwards, Principal of Northwest Cabarrus High School, <br />and Mr. Mike Burleson, Principal of Northwest Cabarrus Middle School, requesting <br />this road name change. No one spoke either for or against the requested <br />change. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the naming of State Road 1828 <br />as Northwest Cabarrus Drive. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Winter Street <br />to the state road system for maintenance. <br /> The Board reviewed the methodology proposed by Mr. George Monaghan, <br />Executive Director of the Centralina Council of Governments, for the <br />nomination and appointment of members to the Private Industry Council for <br />the counties of Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, and Union as <br />provided by the Jobs Training Partnership Act. The proposed 20-member <br />Council will include 12 private sector representatives (2 from each county), <br />3 representatives of educational institutions, and one representative each <br />from the categories of Organized Labor, Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies, <br />Community Based Organizations, Economic Development Agencies and the Public <br />Employment Service.
