Small <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> Mr. Tom Dayvault, member of the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission, reviewed <br />plans for the construction of a park in northern Cabarrus County and <br />southern Rowan County on land to be donated by Cannon Mills Company. He <br />presented the following budget for the proposed park to be financed by <br />funds obtained through a Land and Water Conservation Grant to be submitted <br />by the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission and local funding to be provided by <br />both Rowan County and Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />North Kannapolis Community Park <br /> <br />Facility <br /> <br />Budget Estimate <br /> <br />1. Trail System <br /> <br />$ 5,000 <br /> 10,000 <br /> 5,000 <br /> 4,000 <br /> <br />$24,000 <br /> 25,000 <br /> 18,000 <br /> 60,000 <br /> 15,000 <br /> 25,000 <br /> 6,000 <br /> Subtotal $173,000 <br /> Fees 10,000 <br /> Contingency 17,300 <br /> Total $200,300 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed to accept the property from Cannon <br />Mills Company for the development of a park in northern Cabarrus County <br />and southern Rowan County with the ownership percentages between Cabarrus <br />County and Rowan County to be worked out by the attorneys for the two counties <br />and Cannon Mills Company. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the resolution authorizing the sub- <br />mission of an application for Land and Water Conservation Grant Funds by <br />the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission for the development of the park in <br />northern Cabarrus County and southern Rowan County. The Board agreed to <br />transfer $38,000.00 in Revenue Sharing Funds previously allocated to the <br />Frank Liske Park budget and to appropriate an additional $10,750.00 in <br />Revenue Sharing funds to provide local funding for the park proposed by <br />the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission.
