349 <br /> <br /> The Executive Session was terminated. Chairman Nash reported that <br />the Board had reviewed certain aspects of the proposed Water Supply Agreement <br />between Cabarrus County and the Board of Light and Water Commissioners of the <br />City of Co~cord. He stated that the Board had instructed the County Attorney <br />to obtain a better definition for several words in the agreement ~and report <br />back to the Board as expeditiously as possible. Mr. John R. Boger, Jr., <br />County Attorney, stated that he would attempt to clarify the term "universal <br />rate" used in the agreement to make sure that it would be the same rate as <br />the best rate available for customers inside the city limits as had been <br />agreed upon earlier by letter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENTS <br /> TO THE <br />CENTRALINA JOB TRAINING CONSORTIUM <br /> ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the counties of Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, <br />and Union entered into the aforesaid Job Training Consortium, and this <br />Board of County Commissioners ratified and adopted the Consortium Articles <br />dated June 28, 1983; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain technical amendments entitled "First Amendment to <br />Articles of Association for the Centralina Interlocal Cooperative <br />Consortium for Job Training" have been executed by the Chairman of this <br />Board on behalf of this county, subject to ratification of such action <br />by this Board; now, therefore, it is <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, that the execution of the aforesaid "First Amendment to <br />Articles of Association for the Centralina Interlocal Cooperative Consortium <br />for Job Training" by our Chairman and the said First Amendment is ratified <br />and adopted by this Board. <br /> <br />The foregoing resolution is adopted <br />by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners on August 1, 1983. <br />/s/ Frankie F. Small <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />The amendment is as follows. <br /> <br /> FIRST AMENDMBNT <br /> TO <br />ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION FOR THE <br />CENTRALINA INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE CONSORTIUM <br /> FOR JOB TRAINING <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the undersigned units of local government, to wit, the counties <br />of Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, and Union, in North Carolina, <br />desire to amend its Agreement (Consortium Agreement) of June 28, 1983, <br />effecting an undertaking for job training pursuant to the provisions of <br />N.C.G.S. 160A-460, et seq. and the Federal Job Training Partnership Act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina has requested that a provision <br />be inserted in the Consortium Agreement specifying the manner of amendment <br />of such Agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a typographical error in Article VI of the Consortium Agreement <br />needs to be corrected so as to permit action without meeting by the unanimous <br />vote of the consortium members; now, therefore, the undersigned do hereby <br />adopt this First Amendment to the Articles of Association for the Centralina <br />Interlocal Cooperative Consortium for Job Training, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. A new Article IX is adopted and the existing Article IX is <br />designated Article X, said new Article IX to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
