441 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the contract for the construction <br />of the Cabarrus County Dog Pound to the low bidder, Cabarrus Construction <br />Company, Inc., in the amount of $36,528.00. <br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis reported that it would cost approximately <br />$5,400.00 for County personnel to complete a section of the building presently <br />located at the Landfill as an office for the dog pound. This work would <br />include such items as insulation, sheetrock, lighting, heating system, <br />concrete entrance, and gravel for the parking area. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appropriated $41,928.00 from the Contingency <br />Fund to Animal Shelter - Capital Outlay. <br /> Commissioner Payne introduced discussion regarding the use of a bond <br />attorney located in North Carolina for the proposed bond referendum. After <br />discussion, the Board indicated that they wished for Mr. John R. Boger, Jr., <br />County Attorney, to continue work with Mr. Gundars Aperans, bond attorney <br />of New York City, in preparation for the upcoming bond referendum. <br /> Mr. Bobby Stirewalt, Deputy Animal Warden, requested to speak with the <br />Board regarding the hiring of the new Chief Animal Warden for the County. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to enter into an Executive Session <br />to discuss a personnel matter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Milloway <br />and unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Nash stated that the Board had received a personnel matter <br />regarding the appointment of a Chief Animal Warden and that no action was <br />taken in the matter. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
