30

Mr. John R. Boger, Jr., County Attorney, reported that he had met with
the engineers regarding the request by Mr. Don Sellars that the County
amend its Water System Policies and Regulations in order to sell water to
Silver Maple Estates at a bulk or utility rate. He stated that the engineers
had advised that the County maintain its present policy which does not
provide for the sale of water to a utility. Also, Mr. Boger reported that
the engineers had recommended that the County decline the water lines offered
by Mr. Sellars as there is no way to determine the condition of lines already
in place.
Mr. Don Sellars of Silver Maple Estates reiterated his request for
the County to sell water to Silver Maple Estates at a utility rate. He
stated he would then distribute this water to the homes located in the park.
Mr. Sellars further explained that it would be too expensive for the
Silver Maple Estates to purchase water from Cabarrus County under the terms
of the present water policy.~
The Board agreed to discuss the request by Mr. Sellars at the next
meeting when engineers from Henningson, Durham & Richardson, Inc., are
present.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned.

Clerk to the Board
