108 <br /> <br /> Employees required to work overtime may be compensated with time off <br />on an hour-for-hour basis or paid for such time at the regular hourly rate <br />for overtime hours worked provided that: <br /> <br />(a) the work is of an unusual, unscheduled or emergency nature and is <br /> directed by the department head or the authorized representative <br /> of the department head; <br />(b) the position does not involve administrative, professional or <br /> managerial work excluded from these overtime provisions by the <br /> county manager; <br />(c) compensatory time off shall be granted whenever feasible and <br /> taken within three (3) months from the time it is earned. <br />(d) department heads may with the prior approval of the county manager <br /> authorize pay to employees for overtime work when it is not feasible <br /> to permit their absence for the purpose of taking compensatory <br /> time off; and <br />(e) the payment of overtime pay shall depend upon the availability of <br /> funds in the departmental budget. <br /> <br />Section 10. Call Back Pay <br /> <br /> Any county employee eligible to receive overtime compensation as defined <br />by (c), (d), and (e) of Section 9 of this article will be ~uaranteed a <br />minimum of two hours for being called back to work outside of normal working <br />hours. <br /> <br />Section 11. Payroll Deductions <br /> <br /> Payroll deductions specifically mandated by or authorized by Federal or <br />State acts shall be deducted at each pay period from each employee's pay. <br /> <br />Section 12. Employees Longevity Pay <br /> <br /> A longevity incentive pay plan is provided for all permanent full time <br />and permanent part-time employees if approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners. The plan is as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Years of service shall be computed as of anniversary date of <br /> employment and the service recognized shall be continuous service, <br /> except as may be revised by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />(2) Longevity pay shall commence at the end of two years and <br /> shall be computed on the employees' base pay according to <br /> the following schedule: <br /> <br />Years of Service <br /> <br />Percentag~ Increase <br /> <br />2 1% <br />4 2% <br />6 3% <br />8 4% <br />10 5% <br />12 6% <br />14 7% <br />16 8% <br />18 9% <br />20 10% <br />25 12% <br /> <br />Section 13. Educational Premium <br /> <br /> Although the minimum qualifications have been established for all jobs <br />within the County, certain positions are awarded incentive premiums for the <br />employee to obtain an educational level higher than the minimum requirements. <br />These jobs are recognized and approved by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />The educational incentive program is established to pay 50¢ per month or <br />$6.00 per year for each quarter hour up to 96 quarter hours of credit toward <br />a degree at an accredited college or university as this credit is earned. <br /> <br /> <br />
