135 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board tabled appointments to the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Commission until December 17, 1984, in order to obtain background <br />information on the recommended appointees. <br /> The Board received the letter of resignation from Mr. L. D. Coltrane, <br />III, as a member of the Cabarrus County Senior Citizens Council. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board tabled the appointment of a member to <br />fill the vacancy on the Senior Citizens Advisory Council and asked that <br />the Senior Citizens Advisory Council furnish any recommendations along <br />with any recommendations from members of the Board of Commissioners for <br />appointment to the advisory council. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Chairman Lentz as the 1985 <br />delegate to the Centralina Council of Governments and approved the following <br />alternate delegates. <br /> <br />First Alternate - Commissioner Milloway <br />Second Alternate - Commissioner Hamby <br />Third Alternate - Commissioner Payne <br />Fourth Alternate - Commissioner Barnhardt <br /> <br /> The Board received the recommendation from Mr. William F. Pilkington, <br />Health Director, that Mr. John Lentz (Public Representative) and Mrs. <br />Bertha Williams (Registered Nurse Representative) be reappointed to the <br />Board of Health and that Ms. Joyce Newton be appointed as a Public <br />Representative to fill the position previously held by Mr. Ken Crowell. <br /> Commissioner Barnhardt nominated Mr. John Parker and Mr. John Lentz <br />for appointment to the Board of Health. After discussion, Commissioner <br />Barnhardt withdrew the nomination of Mr. Parker. Commissioner Payne <br />nominated Ms. Joyce Newton and Commissioner Milloway nominated Ms. Peggy <br />Dry for appointment to the Board of Health. Voting was as follows. <br /> <br />Voting for Ms. Dry - Commissioners Milloway and Barnhardt <br />Voting for Mr. Lentz - Commissioners Barnhardt, Hamby, and Payne and <br /> Chairman Lentz <br />Voting for Ms. Newton - Commissioners Milloway, Payne, and Hamby and <br /> Chairman Lentz <br /> <br /> The Board reappointed Mr. John Lentz and appointed Ms. Joyce Newton <br />as Public Representatives on the Cabarrus County Board of Health for a <br />three-year term ending December 31, 1987. <br /> Commissioner Payne nominated Mrs. Bertha Williams for reappointment <br />to the Board of Health as the Registered Nurse Representative. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved that nominations be closed for <br />appointment to the Board of Health. <br /> The Board reappointed Mrs. Bertha Williams as the Registered Nurse <br />Representative on the Cabarrus County Board of Health for a three-year <br />term ending December 31, 1987. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Peggy Dry to the Centralina <br />Private Industry Council to fill the vacancy created by the transfer of <br />Mr. J. A. Hillhouse, Jr. This term of office will expire on June 30, 1985. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Commissioner Hamby as the Commissioner <br />member of the Piedmont Area Mental Health Board. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded~by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. J. Harold Nash as a special <br />representative for the Board of Commissioners to represent the Board and <br />Cabarrus County until the completion of the new National Guard Armory. <br /> Chairman Lentz made the following liaison appointments for the <br />upcoming year. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE LIAISON <br />OR BOARD APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Ambulance <br /> <br />Chairman Lentz <br /> <br />Planning Board Commissioner Payne <br /> <br /> <br />
