<br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular
<br />seesion at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday,
<br />February 4, 1985, at 9:30 A.M.
<br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz
<br /> Commissioners: Kenneth F. Payne
<br /> William G. Hamby, Jr.
<br /> Archie Y. Barnhardt
<br /> Marcelle M. Upright
<br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Chip Lingle of Kimball Memorial
<br />Lutheran Church of Kannapolis, North Carolina.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt
<br />and unanimously carried, the minutes of January 21, 1985, were approved as
<br />written.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Upright and
<br />unanimously~carried, the Board reappointed Dr. Franklin C. Niblock, Jr.,
<br />and Mr. Carl D. Moore as regular members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment
<br />and reappointed Mr. Guy Cress as an alternate member of the Zoning Board
<br />of Adjustment. Each appointment was for a term of three years ending on
<br />February 1, 1988.
<br /> The Board again discussed the recommendation by Mr. Branson Jones,
<br />Chairman of the Cabarrus County Library Board of Trustees, for the
<br />appointment of Mr. Henry H. Land to the Library Board of Trustees to fill
<br />the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. E. K. Prewitt, Jr. It was
<br />noted that Mr. Land had been recommended for this appointment because of
<br />his expertise in bookkeeping and financial matters.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Henry H. Land to the Library
<br />Board of Trustees to complete an unexpired term ending July 31, 1987.
<br /> The Board received the nomination from Mr. James F. Cook, Jr.,
<br />Social Services Director, and Mrs. Kathy Pilkington, Office of Aging
<br />Services Supervisor, for the appointment of Mr. James A. Graeber to
<br />the Senior Citizens Advisory Council to fill the vacancy created by the
<br />resignation of Mr. L. D. Coltrane, III.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. James A. Graeber to the
<br />Senior Citizens Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term ending
<br />November 1, 1986.
<br /> Bids received for the construction of the Cabarrus County Library-
<br />Kannapolis Branch were as follows.
