221 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the 1985-86 contract for <br />supplying food service to the Cabarrus County Jail to the low bidder, <br />The Patio Restaurant, in the amount of $1.45 for breakfast, $1.65 for <br />lunch, and $1.65 for dinner. <br /> Mr. Jay Freeman, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Community Based <br />Alternatives (CBA) Task Force, and Mrs. Carolyn Eury, Director of the <br />Temporary Shelter Care Project, presented the Juvenile Justice and <br />Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) and CBA grant application for continued <br />funding of the Temporary Shelter Care Project in Cabarrus County. The <br />proposed budget was as follows with the County funds to be provided through <br />foster care payments and in-kind services. <br /> <br />JJDP $ 8,556.00 <br />CBA $ 70,000.00 <br />County $ 13,913.00 <br />Other $ 21~410.00 <br /> <br />TOTAL $ 113,879.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of CQmmissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the submission of the grant <br />application for the Community Based Program for Cabarrus County as presented <br />by Mr. Jay Freeman and Mrs. Carolyn Eury. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Rick D. Mclntyre to fill <br />the unexpired term of Mr. Randy Thompson on the Royal Oaks Sanitary District <br />Board of Directors as requested by letter from Mr. William D. Evans, Chairman <br />of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District. <br /> Mr. Thomas W. Dayvault, Executive Vice-President of the Kannapolis <br />Chamber of Commerce, invited members of the Board to the swearing-in ceremony <br />for the Kannapolis City Council at 12:00 noon on May 7, 1985, at Kimball <br />Memorial Lutheran Church. <br /> Mr. Thomas W. Dayvault, Chairman of the Cabarrus-Rowan Park <br />Commission, presented a status report on the development of Bakers Creek <br />Park and invited members of the Board to a dinner meeting at the Park on <br />May 14, 1985, at 7:00 P.M. He requested that the Board approve a Grant <br />of Easement with Kannapolis Sanitary District for Bakers Creek Park. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign the <br />following Grant of Easement. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />GRANT OF EASEMENT <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this __day of May, 1985, <br />by and between the COUNTY OF ROWAN, the COUNTY OF CABARRUS, and <br />CANNON MILLS COMPANY (hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTIES"), and <br />the KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT (hereinafter referred to as the <br />"SANITARY DISTRICT"), <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: that <br /> <br /> FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) and <br />other valuable considerations, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, <br />COUNTIES have bargained and sold and by these presents, do hereby grant, <br />bargain, sell and convey unto SANITARY DISTRICT a permanent easement and <br />right-of-way, including the perpetual right to enter upon the real estate <br />hereinafter described, at any time that it may see fit, and construct, <br />operate, maintain and repair manholes, sewage meter chambers, gate valves <br />and boxes, fire hydrants, meters, pumps, and any and all other devices <br />necessary or useful in the operation of a public water and sewer system, <br />including underground pipe lines and/or mains for the purpose of con- <br />veying water and/or sewer over, across, through and under the lands herein- <br />after described, together with the right to excavate and refill ditches <br />and/or trenches for the location of said pipe lines and/or mains, and <br /> <br /> <br />
