<br /> Ms. Nancy Stowe, Interior Designer, reviewed the bid specifications
<br />for the carpeting. She stated the new carpet would be placed in the Offices
<br />of the Clerk of Court, Manager and Finance, Register of Deeds, Tax Collector,
<br />Tax Supervisor, Building Inspector, and Probation. Ms. Stowe further
<br />advised the Board that the carpet would be installed by Mr. Bailey Caton, the
<br />contractor who had installed the original carpet in the County Courthouse.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the contract for carpeting for
<br />the Cabarrus County Courthouse to the low bidder, Intermarket, Inc., in
<br />the amount of $9,917.52.
<br /> The Board received the nomination from Mr. William F. Pilkington,
<br />Health Director, for the appointment of Mr. Robert L. Dayvault, Jr., to
<br />fill the unexpired term of Mr. Mitchell Watts as the pharmacist member
<br />on the Cabarrus County Board of Health. Mr. Watts' term expires on
<br />December 31, 1985.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Upright
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Robert L. Dayvault, Jr.,
<br />to the Cabarrus County Board of Health to complete the unexpired term of
<br />Mr. Mitchell Watts ending on December 31, 1985.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Health Department
<br />budget amendment to accept $1,794.00 in additional funds from the State for
<br />the Maternal and Child Health Program.

<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request from the Charlotte
<br />Motor Speedway for a permit to conduct a fireworks display on Saturday,
<br />and Sunday, May 25 and 26, 1985. Mr. Gary Partlow of Southern International
<br />Fireworks will be in charge of the pyrotechnic displays at the Speedway.
<br /> Bids received on May 1, 1985, for the one year contract to begin
<br />July 1, 1985, for supplying food service to the Cabarrus County Jail were
<br />as follows.
