<br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, presented the 1985-86 Budget
<br />Ordinance as approved in budget sessions by the Board of Commissioners.
<br /> The Board reviewed the requested tax rates by the fire and sanitary
<br />districts in the county. Members of the Board questioned the increase
<br />from one cent (1¢) to two cents (2¢) for the Jackson Park Fire District.
<br />Mr. Ben Mabrey, member of the Jackson Park Fire Department, explained the
<br />District had requested the two-cent (2¢) tax rate for the 1985-86 fiscal
<br />year as over one-half of'the district would be annexed into the City of
<br />Concord during the next year.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the 1985-86 Budget Ordinance as
<br />presented with the exception that the Jackson Park Fire District tax rate
<br />be set at one and one-half cents (1~¢) rather than two cents (2¢). The
<br />Cabarrus County Budget Ordinance for 1985-86 is as follows.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County,
<br />North Carolina, meeting in session this 17th day of June, 1985, that the
<br />following fund revenues and departmental expenditures together with certain
<br />restrictions and authorizations are adopted.
