265 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to sell the tract of property located <br />on McCachern Boulevard adjacent to the R.E. Underwood Insurance Agency and <br />presently known as 51 McCachern Boulevard to Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Underwood <br />for a net of $500.00 and to advertise as needed and as provided for by law. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Hamby <br />and unanimously carried, the Board designated Chairman James W. Lentz <br />as the voting delegate for Cabarrus County at the 78th Annual Conference <br />of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners to be held in <br />Raleigh on August 8-11, 1985. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following budget amendment for <br />the Parks and Recreation Department. <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />ACCOUNT # 81-10 <br /> <br /> Present <br />Line Item Approved Revised <br />Acct. Pleasant Youth League has provided matching funds of <br />$5,000.00 to fulfill a grant award approved in 1984-85 Fiscal <br />Year to construct an irrigation system and turfing project at <br />Mt. Pleasant High School. <br /> <br /> Mr. William F. Pilkington, Health Director, reported that the only <br />bid received for the mobile health unit was from Medical Coaches Incorporated <br />for $83,366.00, F.O.B., Oneonta, New York. He stated the bid met all <br />of the County's specifications, and he recommended the award of the bid <br />to Medical Coaches Incorporated. <br /> Commissioner Barnhardt asked that the award of the bid be delayed until <br />the next meeting as he stated Mr. Robert Wall, Director of Cabarrus Memorial <br />Hospital, had informed him that the Hospital would be presenting a proposal <br />to the County in regards to the Health Department. The Board delayed <br />consideration of the bid award until contact could be made with Mr. Wall <br />to determine if the proposal was in regards to the mobile health unit. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner <br />Hamby and unanimously carried, the Board tabled action on the mobile health <br />unit bid award until the zoning public hearing scheduled for July 9, 1985. <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, reported that Mr. Branson <br />Jones, Chairman of the Library Board of Trustees, had recommended the <br />reappointment of Messrs. Earl J. Willie and Eugene Wheeler to the <br />Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Earl J. Willie, <br />Kannapolis representative, and Mr. Eugene Wheeler, Mt. Pleasant representative, <br />to the Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term ending July 31, 1988. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized Chairman Lentz to sign the <br />Annual Certification of Firemen for the volunteer fire departments to be <br />submitted to the North Carolina Firemen's Pension Fund.
