Love <br /> <br /> At 10:00 A.M., Chairman Lentz stated that this was the day and hour <br />scheduled for a public hearing for the road name change of Bradford Road <br />to Old Bradford Road and asked if anyone were present who wished to speak <br />for or against this road name change. This road name change had been <br />recommended by the Sheriff's Department and the Planning Department to <br />alleviate the problems created by the similarity between the names of <br />Bradford Road and Brafford Drive. <br /> Mr. Ralph Bradford, resident of Bradford Road, objected to the changing <br />of the name of the road. He stated that Bradford Road had been existence <br />much longer than Brafford Drive and that the name of the newer road should <br />be renamed if a change were necessary. Mr. Bradford strongly objected to <br />the use of the word "old" and agreed to work with the Planning Department <br />to select a new name if the road name had to be changed. <br /> Mr. John Lewis stated he was opposed to the road name change and suggested <br />that Brafford Drive be renamed New Brafford Drive. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by 'Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board tabled consideration of the road name <br />change for Bradford Road until the second meeting in August and set a <br />public hearing for 7:30 P.M. on August 19, 1985, to consider the road name <br />change. <br /> Mr. Lathan Barnett requested to address the Board regarding the lack of <br />proper building inspections on new houses and the failure, of the Building <br />Inspection Department to take appropriate action after the problems are <br />brought to its attention. He stated there were numerous problems with his <br />house and alleged that the Building Inspection Department had been negligent <br />in performing inspections on the house. The Board declined to hear the <br />presentation by Mr. Barnett at this time as he was not on the agenda for <br />the meeting and directed that he contact the County Mmnager if he wished <br />to address the Board at the next meeting regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> <br />
