333 <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at an iron stake, an old corner of Roy Overcash <br />in the line of Melvin Wilkinson, and runs thence with the <br />Overcash line S. 6-15 E. (passing an iron stake in the line at <br />473.7 feet) a distance of 487.7 feet to an iron stake on the <br />north side of the Mooresville Highway in the line of Melvin <br />Wilkinson; thence with two (2) lines of Wilkinson as follows: <br />(1) S. 89-03 W. crossing the Mooresville Highway 349.1 feet; <br />(2) N. 79-27 W. 140.2 feet to an iron stake on the south side <br />of the Mooresville Highway, corner of H. S. Almond; thence with the <br />Almond line crossing the Mooresville Highway, N. 5-33 W. (passing <br />an iron stake in the line at 70 feet), a distance of 490.4 feet <br />to an iron stake in the line of Wilkinson; thence with the <br />Wilkinson line, S. 87-15 E. 482 feet to the BEGINNING, containing <br />5.49 acres, more or less, as surveyed and platted by S. Glenn <br />Hawfield, Jr., Registered Engineer, May 14, 1958, SUBJEC? TO the <br />right of way for the Mooresville Highway. <br /> <br /> The Board reviewed the proposed Fire Protection Resolution which was <br />a result of committee work by Commissioners Hamby and Barnhardt and <br />representatives of various fire departments in the county. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board directed that copies of the proposed <br />Fire Protection Resolution be sent to the Cabarrus County Fire Marshal to <br />be distributed to the volunteer fire departments in the county for comments <br />prior to the adoption of the Resolution by the Board. <br /> The Board received the recommendation from the Social Services Board <br />that the Board of Commissioners establish a policy providing for a per <br />diem of $25.00 per day for meetings of the Social Services Board and reim- <br />bursement for travel and subsistence in accordance with the established <br />Travel Policy for Cabarrus County employees. <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, recommended that the Board <br />establish a uniform per diem and travel rate provided to all boards and <br />commissions for which the Board has a level of responsibility in appointing <br />members. He proposed that the Board set the per diem rate of $35.00 per <br />meeting for the chairman of the board or commission and $25.00 per meeting <br />for members of the board. Mr. McGinnis further recommended that the <br />appointed boards and commissions be afforded travel allowance as provided <br />for in the Travel Policy adopted for County employees. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the pay and travel expense policy <br />for various boards and commissions throughout the county as presented by <br />the County Manager. This policy provides for a per diem rate of $35.00 <br />per meeting for the chairman of the board or commission and $25.00 per <br />meeting for the members of the board and provides for travel allowance <br />as established in the Travel Policy for County employees. <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, reported that a letter had <br />been received from Mission Air, a voluntarily supported air ambulance <br />service, requesting a monetary contribution from Cabarrus County. Chairman <br />Lentz stated he would discuss this request with officials of neighboring <br />counties at the Centralina Council of Governments meeting on November 13, <br />1985. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 11:10 A.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
