367 <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhardt reported that the Soil and Water Conservation <br />District had requested an additional $500.00 for the stream clean-up program. <br />He stated this additional money was needed to cover work that was done <br />this past year. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />with Commissioners Barnhardt, Payne, and Hamby and Chairman Lentz voting <br />for and Commissioner Upright voting against, the Board voted to give <br />the Soil and Water Conservation District an additional $500.00 out of <br />the Contingency Fund for the stream clean-up program. <br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting at 11:50 A.M. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 12:20 P.M. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session <br />to discuss real property acquisition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz stated the Board had discussed the possible purchase of <br />property during the Executive Session. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Attorney to proceed <br />with the purchase of a 7.5-acre tract of land owned by the Readling estate <br />for $15,000.00, subject to a survey, and also a 18.5-acre tract owned by <br />Ralph Bradford for $37,000.00,'subject to a survey, both for the purpose <br />of a water impoundment or a public recreation facility. Funds for the <br />purchase of this property are to be paid out of the Cabarrus County Water <br />and Sewer Utility account. <br /> Members of the Board agreed to meet at the County Courthouse at <br />5:30 P.M. on January 15, 1986, to travel to the Centralina Council of <br />Governments meeting in Charlotte. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 12:40 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
