433 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County, Concord, and Kannapolis are experiencing <br />rapid urban growth in the western and southern sections between these <br />municipalities and the Mecklenburg County line; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this increasing growth continues to encroach on the <br />proposed alignment of the west-side by-pass and the N.C. 136 extension; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this improvement in transportation in the Kanlacon Area is <br />vital for continued growth, economic and industrial development, and <br />adequate transportation facilities in the area; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners requests the State Board of Transportation and the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation increase the scheduling priorities <br />of the west-side by-pass project and the extension of N.C. 136 in the <br />Kanlacon Area. <br /> <br />This the 1st day of May, 1986. <br /> <br />/s/ James W.
