503 <br /> <br />Board asked that Mr. Mabrey prepare a report regarding Ambulance Service <br />manpower, equipment, and calls. Chairman Lentz directed that the Centralina <br />Council of Governments be requested to evaluate the County Ambulance Service <br />and offer suggestions on possible improvements in operations. <br /> Commissioner Upright nominated Mr. Kenneth Geathers for appointment to <br />the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission as submitted by the Cabarrus-Rowan Park <br />Commission. There were no other nominations. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Upright <br />and unanimously carried, the Board by acclamation appointed Mr. Kenneth <br />Geathers to the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission for a four-year term ending <br />July 1, 1990. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss <br />possible land acquisition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that the Board had discussed possible land <br />purchases during the Executive Session. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed to enter into five individual contracts <br />to purchase property for the Coddle Creek Reservoir project. The Board in <br />each case voted to purchase the following tracts of land owned by the follow- <br />ing individuals upon specified conditions for the following prices. <br /> <br />242.1518 acres - Frank Alexander Rankin, Jr., and wife, Patricia Harris <br />Rankin, and Edna Stirewalt Rankin - $500,000.00 <br /> <br />1.3562 acres - Carl R. Bost and wife, Thelma H. Bost - $2,712.40 <br /> <br />5.3637 acres - William A. Faggart and wife, Dorothy C. Faggart - <br />$10,727.40 <br /> <br />6.5297 acres - Arthur J. Musgrove, Jr., and wife, Jenny Sue High <br />Musgrove - $13,059.40 <br /> <br />12.46 acres - Charles E. Faggart - $24,920.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to meet <br />with prospective architects for the new County office building. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> Chairman Lentz reported that Commissioner Payne had left the meeting <br />during the Executive Session. <br /> Chairman Lentz stated that the Board had talked with six architectural <br />firms about the proposed office building and no decision had been reached. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 2:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
