<br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular
<br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, May 4,
<br />1987, at 9:30 A.M.
<br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz
<br /> Commissioners: Kenneth F. Payne

<br /> Martha H. Melvin
<br /> R. Giles Moss
<br /> The invocation was given by Reverend R. J. Hammond of Oakridge Baptist
<br />Church.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the minutes of April 21, 1987, were approved as written.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board granted permission for a fireworks display at
<br />the Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 17, 1987, at approximately 1:00 P.M. and
<br />3:45 P.M., on May 23, 1987, at 1:00 P.M., and on May 24, 1987, at 12:30 P.M.
<br />The fireworks display is in conjunction with The Winston, The Winn' Dixie 300,
<br />and The Coca-Cola 600 and is being supervised by Gary Partlow of Southern
<br />International Fireworks.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board by resolution approved the addition of the
<br />following roads to the State road system.

<br /> rently budgeted amounts. No additional appropriation of County funding
<br /> is requested.

<br /> The following bids were received on April 16, 1987, for the one year
<br />contract to begin July 1, 1987, for supplying food service to the County Jail.
