Mazo Vice President The Board accepted the letter of resignation from Mr. Steven A. Grossman from the Senior Citizens Advisory Council because of business commitments. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and unanimously carried, the Board tabled the appointment to the Senior Citizens Advisory Council until the next meeting. B. S. Brown, Jr., representing the Kannapolis Sanitary District, presented the following resolution which was read: RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS: Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus has determined and does hereby find and declare: (a) That on April 17, 1987 a resolution was received from the Sanitary District Board of the Kannapolis Sanitary District relating to the annexation of territory to the Kannapolis Sanitary District. (b) That the territory described in the petition consists of the property of Robert L. Bare and others. (c) That the petition was signed by all property owners within the area requested to be annexed. (d) That said petition requests that all necessary action required by Part 2 of Article 2 of Chapter 130A of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the extension of the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District be taken so as to annex the territory described in the petition unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. (e) That it is for the best interest of the Kannapolis Sanitary District and the territory requested to be annexed unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District that said territory be included with the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District and receive the services of the Sanitary District. Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus does hereby approve the annexation of the territory described in the petition unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District and does hereby recommend to the North Carolina Commission for Health Services that it approve the annexation of the territory unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. Section 3. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Director, Division for Health Services, Department of Human Resources, State of North Carolina. Thereupon, upon motion of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Chairman Lentz, the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT" was passed by the following vote: Ayes: Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Payne, Hamby, Melvin, and Moss Noes: None The boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed to and included in the Kannapolis Sanitary District are as follows: BEGINNING at a point where the eastern edge of U. S. Highway 29 inter- sects the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary District, this point lying North 20-21 East 4 feet, more or less, from the northeastern corner of the intersection of East 28th Street and U. S. Highway 29 and runs thence along the eastern line of U. S. Highway 29 in four courses as follows: (1) North 20-21 East 96 feet, more or less, to a stake; (2) North 22-14 East 100 feet to a stake; (3) North 24-16 East 100 feet to a
