2OO <br /> <br />(2) Petition 87-11. Planning Staff. Section 5.8, Off-Street Parking <br /> Requirements, Page 64. <br /> <br />Amend Subsection A to read as follows: <br /> <br />A. Application of regulations: Any structure or building hereafter <br />erected or structurally altered or placed on a lot shall be provided <br />with off-street vehicle parking spaces located not more than three <br />hundred (300) feet, at the nearest point from the building entrance. <br />Parking spaces and loading areas shall be paved for all uses other than <br />single-family residential and shall be provided with permanent wheel <br />stops, curb guards, or other barriers which will prevent any part of <br />any vehicle to over-hang into sidewalk areas or vehicular passageways <br />adjacent to the parking area. Required parking areas shall be avail- <br />able for the parking of operable vehicles of residents, customers and <br />employees, and shall not be used for the storage of vehicles or materials, <br />or for the parking of vehicles used for loading or unloading. Required <br />loading space shall be available for the loading and unloading of <br />vehicles, and shall not be used for the storage of vehicles or materials, <br />or to meet off-street parking requirements, or in conducting the use. <br /> <br />Planning Board voted unanimously to recommend approval. <br /> <br /> There was no one present to speak for or against the proposed amendment, <br />and the public hearing was closed. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Payne and seconded by Chairman Lentz to <br />approve Petition 87-11 as stated above. The vote was as follows: <br /> Voting for: Commissioner Payne and Chairman Lentz <br /> Voting against: Commissioners Hamby and Melvin <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to rescind the prior action. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board tabled Petition 87-11 until the next zoning <br />meeting of the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />(3) Petition 87-12. Planning staff. Section 5.8, Off-Street Parking <br /> Requirements, Page 66. <br /> <br />Amend Subsection C to read as follows: <br />C. Parking areas of more than twenty (20) spaces shall have forty (40) <br />percent of the spaces designed to accommodate compact vehicles, these <br />areas shall be designated with signs for compact vehicles. <br /> <br />Planning Board voted unanimously to recommend approval. <br /> <br /> Mr. James F. Owens, Planning Director, stated that the word "shall" <br />should be changed to "may" in the proposed amendment. <br /> There was no one present to speak for or against the proposed amend- <br />ment, and the public hearing was closed. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 87-12 as amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 5.8, Off Street Parking Requirements, Page 66. <br />Amend Subsection C to read as follows: <br />C.
