251 <br /> <br /> STATEMENT OF THE RESULTS <br /> of the <br /> SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM <br /> held in the <br /> COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> on December 15, 1987 <br /> UPON THE QUESTIONS OF APPROVING <br />$29,000,000 SANITARY SEWER BONDS <br />AND $2,000,000 TECHNICAL COLLEGE BONDS <br /> <br /> At a special bond referendum held in the County of Cabarrus on <br />December 15, 1987, 43,245 voters were registered and qualified to vote. <br /> At said referendum 3,499 votes were cast for the order adopted on <br />October 19, 1987, authorizing not exceeding $29,000,000 Sanitary Sewer Bonds <br />of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, for the purpose of providing funds, <br />with any other available funds, for enlarging and extending the sanitary sewer <br />system of said County, including the construction of additional sewage <br />collector, force and interceptor mains and lines, additional sewage pumping <br />facilities, additional sewage treatment facilities and appurtenant facilities, <br />and the acquisition of necessary land, rights of way and equipment, and <br />authorizing the levy of taxes in an amount sufficient to pay the principal of <br />and the interest on said bonds, and 6,344 votes were cast against said order, <br />and a majority of the qualified voters of said County who voted thereon at <br />said referendum having voted against approval of said order, said order was <br />thereby defeated. <br /> At said referendum 5,603 votes were cast for the order adopted on <br />October 19, 1987, authorizing not exceeding $2,000,000 Technical College Bonds <br />of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, for the purpose of providing funds, <br />with any other available funds, for constructing in said County facilities for <br />post-secondary public education to be leased to and operated by The Trustees <br />of Rowan Technical College as a satellite campus of Rowan Technical College, <br />including the construction of a building, related parking facilities and other <br />related site improvements or appurtenant facilities and the acquisition of any <br />necessary land, rights-of-way, equipment and furnishings, and aUthorizing the <br />levy of taxes in an amount sufficient to pay the principal of and the interest <br />on said bonds, and 4,061 votes were cast against said order, and a majority of <br />the qualified voters of said County who voted thereon at said referendum <br />having voted in favor of the approval of said order, said order was thereby <br />approved and is in force and effect. <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of <br />Cabarrus, North Carolina <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners shall file a <br />copy of the foregoing statement of the results of said referendum in her <br />office and shall publish such statement once in The Concord Tribune and <br />The Daily Independent. A statement in substantially the following form shall <br />be published with the foregoing statement: <br />Any action or proceeding challenging the regularity or validity of <br />this bond referendum must be begun within 30 days after (date of publication). <br /> <br /> Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of <br />Cabarrus, North Carolina <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Moss, seconded by Commissioner Melvin, <br />the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE <br />SPECIAL BOND REFERENDUM HELD IN THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA ON <br />DECEMBER 15, 1987 UPON THE QUESTIONS OF APPROVING $29,000,000 SANITARY SEWER <br />BONDS AND $2,000,000 TECHNICAL COLLEGE BONDS" was passed by the following <br />vote: <br /> Ayes: Commissioners Moss, Melvin, Payne, and Hamby and Chairman <br /> Lentz <br /> Noes: None <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board moved to hold a public hearing at 7:00 P.M. on <br />January 4, 1988, at the Mount Pleasant Town Hall with the Mount Pleasant Town <br />Commissioners in regards to financing for the Black Run Creek Reservoir. <br /> <br /> <br />
