510 <br /> <br />Flammable and Combustible Liquids: <br /> <br /> Flammable and Combustible Liquids will be permitted only in <br />locations that meet or exceed N.F.P.A. 30, "Flammable and Combustible <br />Liquids Code" or where applicable N.F.P.A. 395, "Standard for the <br />Storage of Flammable and Combustible Liquids on Farms and Isolated <br />Construction Projects". This operation permit will fall within the <br />normal inspection process. <br /> <br />Flammable and Combustible Finishings: <br /> <br /> Flammable and Combustible Finishings will be permitted only in <br />locations that meet or exceed N.F.P.A. 33 or N.F.P.A. 34 depending on <br />the process. This operation permit will fall within the normal <br />inspection process. <br /> <br />Pyroxylin Plastics: <br /> <br /> Pyroxylin Plastics will be permitted only in locations that meet <br />or exceed N.F.P.A. 40E with the exception of Cellulose Nitrate Motion <br />Picture Film which must conform to N.F.P.A. 40. This operation will <br />fall within the normal inspection process. <br /> <br />Welding and Cutting Operations: <br /> <br /> Welding and Cutting Operations will be permitted only in locations <br />that meet or exceed N.F.P.A. 5lB. The operation permit will fall <br />within the normal inspection process. <br /> <br />Fireworks: <br /> <br /> At this time no permit will be issued by the Fire Marshals Office <br />for this type of material. The use of these materials will be consid- <br />ered on an individual basis by the Cabarrus Board of County Commis- <br />sioners. <br /> <br />Change of Occupancy: <br /> <br /> A Change of Occupancy Permit will be required when the use of an <br />existing building is changed and the use is for commercial, industrial <br />or institutional purposes. Also required when a change of tenant in a <br />place of assembly. <br /> <br />Compressed and Liquified Gases: <br /> <br />A permit is required: <br /> <br /> (a). For the storage, handling, or use of containers of more than: <br /> 1. 2,000 gal. individual water capacity or an aggregate <br />water capacity of 4,000 gal. of flammable compressed gases, or <br /> 2. 10,000 gal. individual water capacity or an aggregate <br />water capacity of 20,000 gal. of nonflammable compressed gases. <br /> (b). For each temporary installation of flammable compressed gases <br />in a place of assembly. <br /> (c). To store, use or handle containers of flammable liquified <br />gases of 2,000 gal. individual water capacity or an aggregate water <br />capacity of 4,000 gal. <br /> (d). To store, use or handle liquefied medical gases exceeding <br />2,000 gal. water capacity in any one container or an aggregate water <br />capacity of 4,000 gal. <br /> <br />PERMITS <br /> <br />TYPES OF PERMITS: <br /> 1. Temporary Permit; When a temporary hazardous situation is antici- <br /> pated for conditions not otherwise regulated by this code, the <br /> Fire Marshal is authorized, based on applicable data, to issue a <br /> temporary special permit for the duration of the hazard. <br /> FEE: $10.00 - Requires inspection of premises prior to issuance. <br /> <br /> <br />
