<br /> Mr. Allan Miles, petitioner, was present to answer any questions
<br />regarding the proposed rezoning. No one spoke against the proposed
<br />amendment, and the public hearing on Petition 88-14 was closed.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Moss, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 88-14 by Allan Miles

<br />I-1. Planning Board voted 5-0 to approve this petition contingent on
<br />the approval by the City of Concord of the rezoning of the front 200
<br />feet of the property to an industrial classification.

<br /> Mr. Ewan reported that the City of Concord had approved the rezoning of
<br />the front 200 feet of the property as requested.
<br /> Mr. Webster Medlin, Attorney representing Werner Mathis USA, Inc., and
<br />Mr. Marvin D. De Witt, Vice President and General Manager of the company,
<br />spoke in support of the rezoning to allow the sale and assembly of textile
<br />testing machinery on the property. No one spoke against the proposed
<br />amendment, and the public hearing on Petition 88-16 was closed.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 88-16 by Werner Mathis USA,
<br />Inc., to rezone property, Map/PIN 11-5549-34-0274 (New Map/PIN
<br />11-5549-24-1074), from ARR to I-1.
