8O <br /> <br />ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Petition 89-02. Little Investment Co. (William Alexander, Agent), <br />Ivey Cline Road, township 2, Map/PIN 4690-11-6163. Wishes to rezone <br />from A-I to I-2. Planning Board voted 4-0 to deny this petition. <br /> <br /> The Board received a letter dated April 17, 1989 from Mr. William G. <br /> Alexander, Attorney for the Petitioner, asking that Petition 89-02 "be tabled <br /> for consideration at a later time by the Cabarrus County Commissioners." <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board accepted the request by Mr. William G. <br /> Alexander, Attorney for the Petitioner, and tabled Petition 89-02 until notified <br /> by the Little Investment Company and upon payment of the additional advertising <br /> expense by Little Investment Company. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Moss, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 7:30 P.M. on May 15, <br /> 1989, for the following road name changes. <br /> <br /> Unnamed Road to Pinebrook Trail (Petition 88-89-01) <br />St. Paul Church Road to Wagoner Road (Petition 88-89-02) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE MONTH OF MAY <br />AS DUCKLING MONTH IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. a North Carolina corporation, is the <br /> only duckling company in the south or southeast; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. sells duckling in all fifty states and exports <br /> to over fifteen foreign countries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Concord Farms, Inc. has an economic impact on farming in six <br />counties in North Carolina by contracting with fifty farmers; and <br /> <br />Concord Farms, Inc. employs some four hundred North Carolinians; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. owns and operates in Cabarrus County the world's <br /> largest duckling hatchery; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. produces approximately twenty-seven percent of <br /> all duckling in the United States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Concord Farms National Duckling Cooking Contest will <br /> be featured at the Share Cabarrus Festival in May. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, James W. Lentz, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim the month of May 1989 as DUCKLING MONTH IN <br />CABARRUS COUNTY, and call upon all citizens to join in saluting Concord Farms, <br />Inc. and to participate in all activities planned in celebration of the event. <br /> <br />This the 17th day of April, 1989. <br /> <br />/s/ James W. Lentz <br />Chairman, Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce to <br />have a fireworks display at the Spring Fever Fest in Kannapolis on May 13, 1989 <br />at 9:30 P.M. The display will be in the parking lot adjacent to Village Park <br />and will be under the supervision of Southern International Fireworks, Inc. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized Atlantic American Properties, Inc. to <br />have a fireworks display in downtown Kannapolis on June 30, 1989. The display <br />will be under the supervision of Southern International Fireworks, Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />
