MITCHELL <br /> <br />Roger Cline <br />Clarence Walter <br />Bobby Kanipe <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following amendment to the Cabarrus <br />County Personnel Ordinance. <br /> <br />ARTICLE III. THE PAY PLAN <br /> <br />Section 6. Pay Rates in Promotion, Demotion, Transfer and <br /> Reclassification <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />An employee who is demoted to a position for which the <br />employee is qualified shall receive at least a one-step <br />reduction in pay. <br /> <br /> Ms. Najla Nave, Director of the Cabarrus Operations of the United Way of <br />the Central Carolinas, requested that Cabarrus County fund $16,419.00 or one- <br />half (1/2) of the Fiscal Year 1989-1990 operating expenses of the Information <br />and Referral Service. Ms. Nancy Crane, Assistant Director of Information and <br />Referral, reviewed the services provided by that agency. <br /> Chairman Lentz informed Ms. Nave and Ms. Crane that the funding request <br />for Information and Referral would be considered during the upcoming budget <br />process. <br /> The Board appointed Commissioner Hamby as the commissioner representative <br />on the Transportation Development Plan Steering Committee. <br /> The Board agreed to have dinner with the Cabarrus Board members of the <br />Piedmont Area Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Authority <br />on May 15, 1989 at 5:30 P.M. at the Cabarrus Mental Health Center. <br /> The Board scheduled a meeting at 4:00 P.M. on May 8, 1989 with the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Health to discuss the proposed recycling program for <br />Cabarrus County. Also, on that date the Board will tour the new Jail addition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to enter into a contract to purchase the <br />following property for the Coddle Creek Reservoir Project pursuant to the terms <br />and conditions set forth in the contract. <br /> <br />Parcel 74G of the Coddle Creek Reservoir Project <br />Mary Vanderburg and husband, James - $4,000.00 <br /> <br />1.4592 acres± - <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Executive Session to discuss <br />possible land acquisition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Executive Session was terminated. <br /> <br /> <br />
