<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Chairman Lentz with
<br />Commissioners Hamby, Moss, and Melvin and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board
<br />adopted the following resolution with the understanding that it would apply to
<br />the Secondary Construction Program as recommended by the North Carolina
<br />Department of Transportation with or without the funds provided by the passage
<br />of the Highway Bill. The Board further authorized the Department of
<br />Transportation to proceed to the next project in the event it is impossible to
<br />obtain the right of way for a recommended project.

<br />A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE
<br />1989-1990 SECONDARY ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
<br /> FOR CABARRUS COUNTY
<br />
<br />WHEREAS,
<br />
<br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation has submitted a
<br />proposed Secondary Road Improvement Program in the amount of
<br />($649,060 or $356,873) for Cabarrus County for the 1989-1990 Fiscal
<br />Year; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS,
<br />
<br />the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in accordance with North
<br />Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 held a public hearing on June 19,
<br />1989 at 7:30 P.M. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the County
<br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, in order to consider public
<br />comments about the proposed Secondary Road Improvement Program; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS,
<br />
<br />North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 provides that the Board of
<br />County Commissioners, after the presentation and discussion of the
<br />annual Secondary Road Improvement Program, may concur with the
<br />program as proposed.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of
<br /> Cabarrus that said Board does concur with the 1989-1990 Secondary Road
<br /> Improvement Program as presented by the North Carolina Department of
<br /> Transportation and recommend that the Board of Transportation adopt the
<br /> proposed program for Cabarrus County.
