Little to represent <br />Cabarrus County on the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission for a term of four years <br />ending July 1, 1993. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Commissioner Melvin to the Social <br />Services Board for a three-year term ending June 30, 1992. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ms. Derelle Kiser as Cabarrus County <br />Tax Collector for a two-year term ending June 30, 1991. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Terry Rowland as Cabarrus County <br />Assessor for a two-year term ending June 30, 1991. <br /> The appointment to the Concord Planning and Zoning Commission to fill the <br />position held by Dr. Edward Tyson was delayed until the next meeting. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. James H. Preddy, Jr., as a Fire <br />District Commissioner for the Cold Water Volunteer Fire Department to fill the <br />position previously held by Mr. Joe Blackwelder. Mr. Preddy°s term of <br />appointment will expire on March 31, 1991. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution and authorized <br />the submission of an application for a State Matching Grant in the amount of <br />$101,900.00 under the provisions of the North Carolina Land Records Management <br />Program (IJtMP). <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE NORTH <br />CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION <br />QUALIFY THE CABARRUS COUNTY LAND RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR ANALOGOUS FUNDINGS <br /> UNDER THE NORTH CAROLINA LAND RECORDS <br /> MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AS ESTABLISHED BY <br /> CHAPTER 1099, SESSIONS LAWS, 1977 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County recognizes a need to create a more <br />efficient standardized land record system with long range plans for <br />modernization of its land records; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has examined and <br />duly considered this resolution and considers it to be in the public <br />interest and to its benefit to file the request for funds under the <br />North Carolina Land Records Management Program; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, that the County <br />requests that it be accepted for funding for land records projects, <br />and hereby expresses assurances to comply with the Rules and <br />Regulations Governing State Grants for Improvement of Land Records. <br /> <br /> This resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call on <br />this date. <br /> <br />Dated: June 19, 1989 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />Frankie F.
