175 <br /> <br />PURPOSE OF BUDGET REVISION REQUEST: <br /> To distribute the contribution from the City of Kannapolis to help fund <br /> the library to the appropriate line items. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board ratified the Revised and Restated Charter of <br />Centralina Council of Governments - July, 1989. The Revised and Restated Charter <br />is hereby included by reference as a part of the minutes. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> The following bid was received on August 1, 1989 for a one year contract <br />for supplying uniforms and accessories to the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br /> VENDOR BID BOND <br />Hub-Stinnette Uniforms, Inc. X <br /> <br />TOTAL BID <br /> <br />$10,730.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the one year contract for uniforms and <br />accessories for the Sheriff's Department to Hub-Stinnette Uniforms, Inc., in the <br />amount of $10,730.00. <br /> Mr. C. Richard Russell, Data Processing Manager, presented technical <br />service proposals from International Business Machines (IBM) for cabling and <br />relocation services of data processing equipment to the new Governmental Center. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Customized Operational Services <br />Proposals for cabling and relocation services for the Cabarrus County Data <br />Processing and authorized Chairman Lentz to execute the contracts with <br />International Business Machines (IBM) National Service Division for the following <br />services. <br /> Cabling Services $85,440.00 <br /> Relocation Services $25,705.00 <br /> Mr. Perry St. John, Architect with Dennis Yates Associates, reviewed the <br />proposed electrical contract change orders for both the Governmental Center and <br />Jail projects. The change orders which totalled $23,897.00 will provide a cable <br />link between the Cabarrus County Courthouse and new Governmental Center at the <br />following cost for each project. <br /> Governmental Center $16,546.00 <br /> Jail $ 7,351.00 <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the change orders totalling $23,897.00 <br />to the electrical contracts with R. D. Franklin Electric Company for the <br />Governmental Center in the amount of $16,546.00 and the Cabarrus County Jail in <br />the amount of $7,351.00. The Change Orders provided for the following work: <br /> <br />Governmental Center: <br />(Change Order Number E-i) - Install a "cable line" composed of four (4) <br />4" conduits, between the Governmental Center and the back of curb on the <br />South side of Church Street as described on Supplementary Drawing No. Elll. <br />Work shall include patching of pavement and providing a waterproof seal <br />at the exterior wall penetration. [Both the minimum fee ($329,000) and <br />the guaranteed maximum cost ($390,000) will be increased by $16,546.00 by <br />this Change Order.] <br />Cabarrus County Jail: <br />Install the cable line from the back of curb on the South side of church <br />Street to the Jail. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the "Sewer Construction Contract, <br />Construction by Applicant", between Prince Electric & Construction Company and <br />Cabarrus County. The contract, which authorized the connection of the following <br />sanitary sewer lines to the County's sanitary sewerage system, is hereby included <br />by reference as a part of the minutes. <br /> THE OAK ESTATES PH. II <br /> This project consists of approximately 2,839 linear feet <br /> of 8" gravity sewer main, 9 manholes and 46 services to <br /> serve the proposed development. The proposed system <br /> will tie into the existing 12" outfall across Back Creek <br /> and will require an aerial creek crossing as shown on <br /> the plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
