Lentz, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract for the performance of a <br />methane gas migration study at the Cabarrus County Sanitary Landfill and <br />development of a report containing conclusions and recommendations for further <br />testing, if any, by Camp Dresser & McKee at a cost of $36,000.00. The Board <br />authorized Chairman Lentz to execute the "Standard Form of Agreement between <br />Owner and Engineer for Study and Report Professional Services" which is hereby <br />included by reference as a part of the minutes. The services of the engineer <br />as described in the contract were as follows: <br /> <br />The services to be rendered by ENGINEER will be in connection with <br />the performance of a study at the County landfill to investigate the <br />potential for methane migration. The work will include a <br />preliminary site investigation; subsurface methane probing and <br />analysis; installation of up to five methane gas monitoring wells; <br />and, development of a report summarizing the engineer's findings and <br />recommendations for further testing, if necessary. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following amendment to the Contract <br />with the Cooperative Christian Ministry and authorized Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., <br />Social Services Director, to execute the amendment on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> AMENDMENT <br /> The contract made by and between Cabarrus County through its <br />Department of Social Services and Cooperative Christian Ministry for <br />the period 7-1-89 through 6-30-90 is hereby amended to include terms <br />and conditions as described in item 7 as follows: <br /> 7. CCM agrees to provide to the Department of Social <br /> Services office space at its facility for the <br /> administration of the Low Income Energy Assistance <br /> Program, the Crisis Intervention Program and such <br /> other emergency assistance programs as CCM and the <br /> Department of Social Services mutually agree would <br /> be beneficial to provide at this location during <br /> the period of this agreement.
