197 <br /> <br /> IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the parties have caused this agreement <br />to be duly executed by their authorized officers pursuant to <br />resolutions adopted in accordance with law. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />By: <br /> <br />Chairman of the Board of <br />County Commissioners <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CABARRUS RESCUE SQUAD, INC. <br />By: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Secretary <br /> <br /> This instrument has been pre-audited in the manner required <br />by the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act. <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br />County Finance Officer <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following contract between Cabarrus <br />County and Keep Cabarrus Clean and Beautiful, Inc. for Fiscal Year 1989-1990 and <br />authorized Chairman Lentz to execute the contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />CONTRACT <br /> <br /> THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into as of the 1st day of <br />July, 1989, by and between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and <br />political subdivision of the State of North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "COUNTY", by and through its Board of <br />Commissioners, and KEEP CABARRUS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL, INC., a non- <br />profit corporation of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as "KCCBI"; <br /> W I T N E S S E T H: that - <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI is a non-profit corporation located in Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina, the purpose of which is, among other things, <br />to plant, cultivate and/or clean up public property, to educate the <br />general public regarding the benefits of a clean environment, and <br />to institute other programs designed to reduce litter and other <br />physical pollution of the environment of Cabarrus County for the <br />benefit of all its citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY is authorized to make contributions to KCCBI <br />under the provisions of G.S. 153A-247, 153A-274, Chapter 130 of the <br />General Statutes, and otherwise pursuant to its police power; and <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY and KCCBI desire to enter into a contract <br />whereby KCCBI will initiate and implement programs consistent with <br />its purposes hereinbefore set forth; and <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI desires to obtain the financial support of <br />COUNTY for a portion of its costs incurred in providing such <br />services and, in the interest and welfare of its citizens, COUNTY <br />desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs <br />incurred by KCCBI in delivering such services; and <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY has appropriated the sum of Three Thousand <br />Dollars ($3,000.00) to assist KCCBI in its delivering such services <br />for the period July 1, 1989 June 30, 1990. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, COUNTY and <br />KCCBI do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> 1. This contract shall begin July 1, 1989, and shall exist <br />and continue through June 30, 1990. <br /> 2. KCCBI shall initiate and implement programs designed to <br />plant, cultivate and/or clean up public property, to educate the <br />general public regarding the benefits of a clean environment, and <br /> <br /> <br />
