The plan included input from the community, farmers, consumers, <br />educators, Cooperative Extension and other interested parties or partners. <br />Extension of the lease agreement between Cabarrus County and CFSA was also <br />discussed. <br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Mr. Newton, Jacob Leech, CFSA <br />Operations Director, and Karen McSwain, CFSA Farm Services and Food Systems <br />Director, responded to a variety of questions from the Board. Thomas Moore, <br />CSFA NC Food Systems Coordinator, was also in attendance. <br />Recess of Meeting <br />At 5:59 p.m., the Board took a short break. The meeting resumed at <br />6:22 p.m. <br />DHS — Child Care Program Integrity <br />Ben Rose, Human Services Director, reported the Department of Human <br />Services (DHS) actively works fraud referrals within the Child Care Subsidy <br />program. In addition to the fraud work done internally, he stated DHS has <br />successfully set up a process with the District Attorney to refer cases for <br />criminal prosecution. He presented the current process for Child Care fraud <br />and requested feedback from the Board regarding ongoing fraud collection <br />activity within the Child Care subsidized program. <br />Amy Nance, Program Manager, Economic Services, presented examples of <br />intentional program violations and how they are processed. <br />Mr. Rose reviewed the process for reimbursement of Child Care fraud and <br />requested direction from the Board. <br />
