<br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Ms. Carpenter and John Mills,
<br />CVB Executive Vice President, responded to questions from the Board.
<br />Mr. Mills then presented a general overview of the CVB's FY 2017 budget
<br />totaling $5,522,723,00.
<br />There was general discussion, with Mr. Mills and Ms. Carpenter responding
<br />to questions from the Board. Topics addressed included: wayfinding signage;
<br />CVB funding per legislation; projects funded for sports development in county
<br />parks; etc.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board suspended its Rules of Procedures in order
<br />to take action on this item due to time constraints.
<br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Tourism Authority's FY 2017
<br />budget totaling $5,522,723.00, in accordance with Article IV, Room Occupancy
<br />and Tourism Development Tax, Tourism Authority of the Cabarrus County Code of
<br />Ordinances.
<br />EDC - Presentation of the FY 2017 Budget Request
<br />Terry Crawford, Interim President and CEO, EDC (Cabarrus Economic
<br />Development Corporation), LeeAnn Nixon, Existing Industry Project Manager, and
<br />Samantha Grass, Recruitment Project Manager, presented a PowerPoint
<br />presentation overview of the EDC's FY 2017 budget request. Joshua Fernandez,
<br />Research and Marketing Coordinator, and DeAnna Ford, CPA, were also present.
<br />There was discussion throughout and following the presentation and Mr. Crawford,
<br />Ms, Nixon and Ms. Grass responded to a variety of questions from the Board.
