During discussion, Fire Marshal Langer, Mr. Bergeron <br />and Fire Chief Kirk, responded to questions from the Board. <br />Odell Volunteer Fire Department <br />Fire Marshal Steve Langer reported the Odell Volunteer Fire Department <br />(VFD) is requesting a 1 -cent increase bringing their fire district tax rate to <br />6.8 cents and generating an additional $93,864.00 on the tax rate. <br />Lonnie Seaford, Odell VFD Board President, reported the increase in <br />revenue will be utilized for additional staffing at Odell Fire Station 2 on <br />Shiloh Church Road. <br />Fire Chief Jake Williams, Odell VFD, presented a PowerPoint presentation <br />of the Odell VFD's 2016 -2017 proposed budget. He advised the rate increase is <br />expected to improve service and reduce response times. <br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Fire Marshal Langer, and Fire <br />Chief Williams, responded to questions from the Board. <br />General Board Discuss <br />Chairman Morris advised there is time to study the requests from the fire <br />districts before approval of the budget. <br />Commissioner Poole encouraged citizens within the Midland, Northeast and <br />Odell fire districts to look at the proposed requests and share their opinions <br />with Board members. <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding citizen input. <br />Adj our <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m. <br />Megan t, C erk to the Board <br />
