July 18, 2016 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 2817 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental <br />Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. <br />Present - Chairman: Stephen M. Morris <br />Vice Chairman: Diane R. Honeycutt <br />Commissioners: Grace M. Mynatt <br />Elizabeth F. Poole <br />Lynn W. Shue <br />Also present were Mike Downs, County Manager; Richard M. Koch, County <br />Attorney; Pam Dubois, Senior Deputy County Manager; Jonathan Marshall, Deputy <br />County Manager; and Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board. <br />Chairman Morris called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. <br />Chairman Morris led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Reverend. D. Alan Thompson, Jr. from Centergrove United Methodist Church <br />in Midland delivered the invocation. <br />(A) APPROVAL OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the minutes of May 26, 2016 (Budget <br />Meeting) and June 6, 2016 (Work Session) as written. <br />(B) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the following changes to the .Agenda. <br />Additions: <br />New Business <br />G -1 CCS - Funding Request for 108 Acres on Weddington Road <br />Supplemental Information: <br />New Business <br />G -1 EDC - Economic Development Grant Request for Project Hornet - Public <br />Hearing 6:30 P.M. <br />• Overview <br />• Grant Analysis <br />Reports <br />1 -4 Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />• Report <br />Updated: <br />Consent <br />F -7 Sheriff's Office - E -911 Equipment Upgrade Lease <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Agenda as amended. <br />(C) RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTA'T'IONS <br />(F -1) ALP - FY17 Matching Incentive Grant Requests <br />Active Living and Parks (ALP) has a Matching Incentive Grant Program that <br />provides seed money for civic, community and school groups to construct, improve <br />or acquire recreational and park facilities in Cabarrus County.
