July 18, 2016 (Regular Meeting) Page 2837 <br />(H -3) Appointments Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Commissioner Poole from the Tourism <br />Authority roster and thanked her for her many years of service. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Vice Chairman Honeycutt (BCC Member - <br />Seat #4) to the Cabarrus-County Tourism Authority for an unexpired term ending <br />June 30, 2018. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly New Development Report <br />The Board received the monthly new development report for informational <br />purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report <br />for June 2016 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary <br />for June 2016 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -3) EDC - June 2016 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of June as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -4) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />The Board received the monthly financial update for informational purposes <br />as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -5) DOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municivalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 4 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission - 3 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - Z Vacant Position <br />• Human Services Advisory Board - I Vacant Position <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council -2 Vacant Positions (Student under <br />18) <br />• Library Board of Trustees - 1 Term Expiring Soon (Midland) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee - 2 Terms Expiring <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions <br />• Youth Commission - 3 Terms Expiring Soon and 4 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Chairman Morris commented on the Rob Wallace Park groundbreaking ceremony. <br />Vice Chairman Honeycutt commented on the upcoming Log Rolling challenge <br />and picnic at Camp T.N.
